Abuse and exploitation are constant dangers for people with developmental disabilities. According to a recent study, they are four to ten times more likely to be abused than their peers without disabilities. In this workshop, adults with developmental disabilities and their families will learn what abuse is, what the signs of abuse are, what to do if your or a loved one has experienced abuse and what steps can be taken to avoid the risk of abuse.

The seminar is free and open to the community. Presented by Joshua’s Path at Goodman JFS of Broward County. The Joshua’s Path program supports, educates and empowers adults with developmental disabilities, their parents, siblings and other caregivers by providing free consultations, a searchable website, resources and educational seminars.
